Untu Palms often referred to as the jewel of Kwa Zulu Natal Lower South Coast is the complete holiday resort for families, and consists of Cabanas (Double Storey Units), Chalets and a unique Caravan Park.

A number of the units have sea views and are all situated a short distance from the beach.

The Resort is situated at Sunwich Port, approximately 120km south of Durban and 10km north of Port Shepstone.

These units can accommodate 8 people.

Undercover parking is available.

Cabanas:

TWENI SELF CATERING

Our Chalet and Caravan Accommodations are fully equipped and maintained to the highest standards. Pillows, linen, and blankets provided. Complete with crockery, cutlery, cooking and kitchen utensils.

The Chalets and Caravans are serviced and cleaned before the tenants take occupation. If not left in a reasonably clean condition (including dishes) an extra cleaning charge will be deducted.

Anything missing, broken or damaged will be charged for. The breakage deposit will be refunded within 14 days after departure.

No animals permitted in the chalets. Accommodation to be vacated by 10 am unless arranged otherwise.

Facilities:

Recreational facilities include trampoline, swimming pool, and children’s play park, organized events in season, large open grassed area on the banks of the lagoon for sports, games, and recreation.

Pool table, table tennis, volleyball, darts, games room, TV room with DSTV.

Communal braai for organized braai’s. Canoes are available and there is fishing in both river and sea.

Riverbend Chalets and Campsite, Tweni

Riverbend Chalets & Campsite is situated in Umtentweni on the Lower South Coast in KwaZulu-Natal which is a Popular Tourist Destination.

We are about 1-11/2 hours drive south of Durban.

We are also situated on the Umtentweni River, which is about 2km upriver fromGARMIN ETREX 10 GPS the ocean where we are fortunate to be surrounded by indigenous bush and forest that attracts abundant birds and small wildlife.

You can paddle to the sea in one of our, available to hire Canadian style canoes when the river is full.PORT SHEPSTONE LIGHT HOUSE We cater for holidaymakers and travelers who are looking for accommodation in central but tranquil surroundings.

We offer a choice of self-catering accommodation as well as a campsite option whereby caravanning sites are also available.

Our self-catering accommodation option offers 3 x delightful & spacious wooden houses as well as the option of a 2 bedroom cottage.

All the self-catering units are free-standing and pet-friendly.

The campsite, however, is unfortunately not pet-friendly.

We are close to all amenities which include a Kwik Spar, Pharmacy, and Post Office, and we are surrounded by many restaurants and pubs in the vicinity too.

Port Shepstone – 5km distance away, is our local business center and has most of the facilities and shops that a visiting tourist would require.

Umtentweni and Southport beaches are our closest beaches and are manned by lifeguards.  There are also many areas where it is permitted to walk your dogs.

Access to Riverbend is easy for those who wish to walk their Dogs or simply to wander along the many trails on Riverbend.

Campsites:

This small, beautiful secluded campsite is tucked away at the bottom of Riverbend along the Umtentweni riverbank.  Access is down a fairly steep tarred road which passes through a pretty forested hillside.

Campers will be pleased with all-electric grass sites, portable braais are available, level ground and largeCAMPING RIGHT ON THE RIVER BANK canopy trees. 

The ablution buildings have 3 toilets, 3 showers, and a bath.  There are also 3 double sinks for washing up.  Municipal hot and cold water.

The campsite is ideal for holidaymakers who are looking for a quiet get-away in delightful surrounds right alongside the Umtentweni River.

There is a small vlei nearby which is home to a number of water birds. We have seen Egyptian Geese, hammerkop, African black duck, reed cormorant, pied & brown hooded kingfishers, little egrets, grey & purple herons, striated heron & hadeda ibis to mention a few.

To ensure that everybody is able to enjoy the serenity of this riverside campsite there is a strict no noise/or music policy.

You are welcome to bring & launch your own small river craft/canoe to enjoy the exploring river.  We also have a few canoes available for hire. We advise that only small electric motors should be used on the river.  The river level is dependent on whether the river mouth is open or closed.  When we have had a lot of rains in the area the river level will probably be low whereas in the dry winter months the river level is likely to be high.  

Fishing: mullet in the river and the small dam is a lovely beginner fishing spot where you are almost guaranteed to catch lots of little fish. (I’m told they even eat chocolate buns!)

Attractions:

Umtentweni Beach, 2 km away by road, is a good beach with a paddling pool, rock protected easy swimming area, and a general swimming area guarded by lifeguards and there are shark nets.

There are also a number of beaches close by where dogs are allowed on the beach and are also popular with sea fishermen.

There are a number of pubs and restaurants in Umtentweni.

Blue Sky Holiday Cottages Oslo Beach:

Blue Sky Holiday Cottages are situated just over an hour away from Durban, on Prime South Coast Beachfront Property.

It offers fantastic sea views and the tranquil surrounds of lush green vegetation and majestic milkwood trees.

Private beach access is just a few steps from your sparkling swimming pool.

This is a great Fishing spot for all those62 PIECE ASSORTED FLY’S enthusiastic fishermen out there. Enjoy shopping at two of the largest malls on the South Coast (The Shelly Centre and The South Coast Mall), which are just a few minutes away.

Self-Catering units:

12 sleeper:

The 12 sleeper consists of an open plan lounge, dining room, and kitchen. It has 3 bedrooms; the main bedroom has a queen-size bed and a double bunk with en-suite and has beautiful sea views.

The other two bedrooms have 4 single bunk beds each. There is also a main toilet, bath, and shower. A braai stand, table, and chairs can be found on the veranda by the pool.

6 sleeper:

The 6 sleeper consists of an open plan kitchen, dining room, and lounge. It has a toilet, shower, and bath.

The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and has beautiful sea views.

4 single bunks can be found in the open-plan area. A braai stand, table, and chairs can be found in the veranda.

About:

Each cottage is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen that comes complete with all cutlery and crockery.

We provide linen (duvet cover + inner, pillows, fitted sheets). We do not provide toilet paper, toiletries, towels and blankets, and cleaning detergents.

Each unit has access to the pool area at all times. A courtyard can be found between the 2 units, here you will find a wash trough and clotheslines.

The cottages are situated on a property that is fully fenced, has electronic gates and is monitored by ADT Security Company.

Each cottage is fitted with a DSTV dish and decoder; however, you will need to carry your DSTV decoder and smart card ( new multichoice rule). However the house currently has dstv so there is no need to carry decoder or your card.

  • A quiet period must be strictly observed after 23h00 so that other owners and/or occupants are not in any way disturbed by noise from any of the flats, garages or grounds.
  • No hard type cricket, football, rugby or other balls may be used when playing games on the premises so as to prevent injury to young children and damage to windows, electric fencing, and plants.
  • No firearms, pellet guns or fireworks may be discharged on the premises.

PARKING OF VEHICLES

  • Vehicles are to be properly parked within the allocated parking bays.
  • Only one vehicle or trailer is permitted per exclusive use parking bay.
  • There is a designated access walkway on the north side of each stairwell.
  • Visitor’s vehicles and any trailers are to be parked in the demarcated area behind the garages.

WASHING OF VEHICLES

  • Vehicles may be washed at the wash bay situated at the southern end of the main driveway.
  • A tap and hose are available for this purpose. The use of the fire hydrant hoses is strictly illegal and not permitted.

REFUSE

  • The local municipality collects refuse every Monday and Friday morning.
  • Refuse must be placed in suitable refuse bags which should then be deposited in the large refuse bins in the refuse room (situated next to the garages near the main gate of the complex).

WASHING LINES

  • Washing lines are provided at the south end of the garages, and ownersCANON EOS-REBEL T6 DSLR CAMERA BUNDLE or occupiers of flats may not hang any washing, towels, laundry or any other items from windows or on patios/verandahs or any place where it would be visible from outside the building or from any other flat.

BRAAI AREAS

  • Open fires or a braai that create smoke are not permitted on the patios/verandahs of the flats and the special braai areas at either end of the building should be used for that purpose.
  • When the braai areas are used, please ensure that they are left in a dean and tidy condition for the next user.
  • Owners or occupants using their own braai should place them on the lawn at least 12m from the front of the building until all smoke has disappeared.
  • Gas or an electric braai can be used provided that they do not emit smoke while food is being prepared.

ANIMALS, BIRDS, LIVESTOCK, FISH

  • No animals, poultry, or other livestock, may be kept anywhere on the premises.
  • No slaughtering of any creature anywhere on the premises and no scaling or cleaning of fish on the common property is permitted.
  • Pets may be kept in the flats provided that permission has been granted by the trustees of the body corporate and by the owner of the particular flat.
  • No pet is allowed on the common property unless accompanied by the owner or tenant who will be responsible for the cleanliness of the property.
